(event date estimated)Caleb Chapmans Soundhouse Event Description
Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse is a multi-disciplinary, independently-owned business comprised of our award-winning Contemporary Music Program.
Our work encompasses the advancement of music education, performance training, touring, and studio recording. Soundhouse producers and directors are all practicing musicians, and whether working collaboratively or independently, they do so in friendship.
Our structure is unique. We are the only major music performance training organization where the business stakeholders are the educators and mentors, who also serve as the primary contact for every student-musician. This design reflects our conviction that great music education cannot happen without passion, intelligence, and — above all — personal commitment, a fact demonstrated by a portfolio of programs and award-winning bands spanning two decades and over 5,000 musicians with virtually 100% receiving college scholarship offers.
Our credo.
The Soundhouse produces the unmatched fun of creating music with others by providing opportunities to:
-
Collaborate with other committed musicians and forge life-long friendships.
-
Perform for large audiences.
-
Document progress through technology, including audio and video recording, while mastering studio techniques.
-
Be motivated by the world’s very best artists and educators.
Rehearse with the best.
Soundhouse members rehearse with other like-minded, committed musicians every week. Sharing a passion for music and dedicating significant time and energy to their art fosters lifelong friendships among bandmates.
Performing and touring.
The musicians in our Contemporary Music Program perform frequently and in a variety of settings – from club stages to world-famous concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and the Apollo Theater. Past trips have included every major US city and international destinations like Switzerland, Cuba, Italy, France, Sweden, China, Germany, Croatia, Spain, Canada, Mexico, England, The Netherlands, and more!
Musicians also have the opportunity to perform for a global audience through our Soundhouse Virtual Concert Series.
Recording and technology.
Soundhouse bands capture their performances in the recording studio and on video. These recordings document the musicians’ achievements and allow them to share their music with the world! We embrace the latest in technology to maximize the music experience.
Inspiration.
Our bands are led by top-tier producers with years of real-world experience. Additionally, world-class artists from various contemporary styles work with Soundhouse throughout the year to instruct and perform with our musicians. Many of the biggest names in music also hold positions on our staff as part of the Soundhouse Production Team.
Guests have included members of Maroon 5, Toto, the Dave Matthews Band, Genesis, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Tower of Power, Journey, the Saturday Night Live band, AC/DC, and others. GRAMMY-winning jazz artists including Victor Wooten, Branford Marsalis, David Sanborn, Kirk Whalum, Gordon Goodwin, Dave Weckl, Joe Lovano, Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine, Esperanza Spalding, Ernie Watts, Eric Marienthal, Jeff Coffin, and Randy Brecker also make regular appearances.
A legacy of excellence.
Thousands of young musicians have had their lives changed by the incredible opportunities afforded by the Soundhouse Contemporary Music Program. Since 2005, nearly every one of our seniors has received substantial college scholarships for music and academics, with an average annual total of over $1 million in scholarship offers for our graduates.
Soundhouse alumni have attended the nation’s top music schools such as Juilliard, Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory, USC, University of Miami, University of North Texas, NYU, Eastman School of Music, and many others. Those who don’t pursue music have attended premier universities across the country. Alumni of the Soundhouse program can be found in well-known bands like Imagine Dragons, The Moth & the Flame, the Bruce Hornsby Trio, Redlight King, and more.
